South Wasco County School District #1

April 1st-April 28  COVID-19 Extended Closure Plan

South Wasco County School District would like to thank students, parents and staff for their patience as we comply with Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order to close schools through April 28. District administration have spent countless hours working with Oregon Department of Education to ensure that the district is meeting all new guidelines. Beginning April 1st the district will be delivering weekly food baskets and “supplemental” educational packets to homes.

Food Boxes: SCHOOL TO HOME DELIVERY

Bus Drivers and Educational Assistants will be delivering weekly food baskets containing both breakfast and lunch materials for students.

Food delivery will be from at 10:30am to noon beginning April 1st, and will also happen on April 8, April 15 and April 22nd.

This home-delivery model does have some regulations the district must follow. Please be prepared to receive and sign for food deliveries each Wednesday. Thank you for your cooperation.

Supplemental Materials

Supplemental Educational Materials will be delivered with food baskets for K-8 students. Junior High and High School students will have supplemental academic activities sent via their Chromebooks. If you do not have internet access, please contact the school and we will deliver hard copies of supplementary activities for your student, with the weekly meal delivery.

We will continue to share more information as it becomes available to us. Again, thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate these unchartered waters.

Sincerely,

Ryan Wraught, Supt.
