Last Friday was Statewide Inservice Day, so many SWC teachers attended conferences and workshops to improve the educational experiences for our students. To name a few, Mr. Sowell and Mr. Henson attended The Oregon Science Teachers Association & Oregon Computer Science Teachers Association Conference. Mr. Kurtz attended the Northwest Mathematics Conference. Ms. Brumley attended a leather-working workshop in Pendleton to add as an element to the Agriculture curriculum, and Ms. Henson attended the Oregon Thespians, Oregon Theatre Educators Association Conference.
Last Tuesday, 12 seniors traveled to Redmond with Ms. Malefyt to attend the Central Oregon College Fair where they were able to meet with representatives from over 70 colleges! They gathered lots of information to pour over in the next few weeks as they apply to colleges!

The 5th grade finished up an educational week experiencing Pioneer School at the Smock Prairie Schoolhouse with Miss Necia. Thank you to the Wamic Historical Society and the US Forest Service Barlow Ranger District, as well as all the parents and volunteers!
The 8th Grade ELA class is working on giving timed instructional speeches in Ms. Henson's class; they will present their final speeches this coming week.
The high school volleyball team is off to a tourney in Damascus today. Go get 'em, Redsides!
The 4th grade has had some great days this week working on their math! They are working on place values together this morning with Mr. Kurtz.
