8th Grade Students worked remotely from the public library with Ms. Henson, studying library services and researching Benjamin Franklin for U.S. History.

8th Grade US History Students collaborated to create a Thanksgiving Meal Presentation regarding the cultural significance and history of Thanksgiving, along with important events and figures of that time.



SWCSD careers teacher Ms. Malefyt had 10 careers students go to the Skilled Trades Fair at the Redmond Fair Grounds last Friday November 17th. There were over 1000 students from 40 school that attended!






The middle school student council went to Canyon Rim to do Thanksgiving crafts with the residents with Ms. Krista.









The girls basketball team just finished intensity week this morning, doing workouts every morning before school with Rose! Way to work, Redsides!!


Students in fourth grade are using loupes to examine rocks and fossils, as part of their science unit on Earth’s Formations with Mr. Kurtz.





The SWC Calendar Committee Meeting scheduled for tonight November 16th at 6:00pm at the Simnasho Long House has been cancelled.

The 5th graders got to do a little fishing on their field trip yesterday with Ms. Necia!



Bond Update: All bond projects are progressing. The key projects nearing completion at the kitchen/cafe which should be open for students after the break! Complete projects: high school roof, HS bathrooms. Security Update: HS Doors are installed. GS/MS Doors are currently being installed. Sidewalk/Playground: phase 2 of cement pour complete. Stage is nearing completion. New Gym/Locker Rooms are on track to be finished the first of Feb. New fiber for internet being pulled soon!

Senior Language Arts students are participating in a formal, academic discussion for their coursework today.


As the CTE program at SWC continues to grow, our CTE teachers are getting more learning opportunities to enrich the CTE program. Mr. Sowell and Mr. Henson are at Autodesk university, a CTE design and make conference for Computer Aided design/manufacturing, machining, welding, and design. They are learning about leading edge educational software and technology that leading manufacturing companies use as the future of manufacturing in the US and the world. They'll be able to bring back current instructional opportunities for our students preparing for their next steps after high school.
