Students enjoyed Friday Fun days of gaming and then making cardboard cars with Mrs. Carter and Mr. Henson as a fun STEM challenge. They raised to the challenge of trying to build the fastest car using only cardboard and a few other provided supplies.








Our small-but-mighty middle school OBOB team made it to the round of 8 at regionals today. Way to go, Lemon Drops!




Students have been enjoying the warmer weather on the new playground.


The sixth grade is finishing up their Oregon Tribal Assignment Presentations. They each picked a tribe from Oregon to research and make a slide presentation to present in front of the class. They all did a great job!



The Freshmen Physics class (with Mr. Henson) is investigating impulse and the effects of cushion on the time delay of feeling a force using graphical analysis and force plates.



SWCSD would like to let you know that Parent/Teacher conferences will be next Friday, March 14th. If needed, K-5th Grade teachers will reach out to parents/guardians with their specific link to Appointlet to schedule a time for a conference. The 6-12th Grade teachers will reach out to parents/guardians or you can call the HS Office at 541-395-2225 to schedule a time if you would like to conference with your student's teacher.

Last week in Science, Sophomores constructed batteries from everyday household materials, while understanding electricity and the chemical reactions within a battery. Then each group had to construct operational flashlights to make their way through an obstacle course without their flashlight failing. They are so proud of their lights! Rightfully so!

Jason Hull scored first team honors as well as the Player of the Year award.
Bailey Udey and Storm McCoy both received 2nd Team honors, and Jayda Iverson received honorable mention.

Seniors and some NHS members frosted cookies for Canyon Rim residents.


South Wasco County Redsides STEM club, CogNation, competed in a Vex VRC robotics “High Takes” tournament against 37 teams from all over Oregon. CogNation finished 12 which allowed them to be the 7th alliance captain for the final single elimination tournament. After winning the first round they ended short of the championship. They are already gearing up for next year, ready to continue playing against 1-6A districts at this elite level. These Redsides engineering and programming skills are evident in their commitment to building an excellent robot. Congratulations. Go CogNation! Go Redsides!
